How to deal with vacuum system pollution
Low vacuum devices such as vacuum conveying, vacuum impregnation, vacuum filtration, vacuum monotony, and vacuum degassing (steel treatment) require low vacuum pump pumping units with high working pressure and large exhaust volume. The main pumps of these low vacuum pumping units are commonly reciprocating vacuum pumps, oil sealed vacuum pumps, steam radiation pumps, water ring pumps, Roots pumps, etc. The low vacuum pumping unit used also needs to be equipped with necessary components such as dust collectors and monotonic tanks according to the cleanliness, humidity, or other special requirements of the extracted gas.
During the compression process, water vapor will condense into droplets and mix with the pump to form a suspension. This not only reduces the vacuum degree, but also causes rust on the pump chamber and rotor, damaging the sealing surface and lowering the pump's ultimate vacuum degree. Therefore, it is important to prevent water vapor from contaminating mechanical pumps. The preventive measures include:
(1) Select an oil sealed mechanical pump with an air ballast device;
(2) Install oil separators, centrifugal separators, or oil-water separators, and suspend the disposal of mechanical pump oil mixed with water. The disposed oil then flows into the pump for use;
(3) Using highly absorbent monotonic agents;
(4) The use of liquid nitrogen cold trap can not only effectively adsorb water vapor, but also prevent the mechanical pump oil from flowing back to the high vacuum chamber.
Pollution and Prevention of Oil Diffusion Pump Vacuum System
The oil diffusion pump vacuum system is the most commonly used vacuum system, which achieves a vacuum degree range of 1.3 × 10-3-1.3 × 10-5 Pa. The common drawback of various vacuum devices composed of oil diffusion pump vacuum systems after long-term use is that the vacuum degree cannot be pumped up or cannot reach the original limit vacuum level. Related to the oil vapor pollution on the walls of the vacuum chamber and the pollution of various pollutants during the vacuum process, the preventive measures are:
(1) Regularly clean the vacuum chamber;
(2) Regularly suspend cleaning of oil sealed mechanical vacuum pumps and oil metal diffusion pumps.
